Case Study #1 Air Traffic Control Real Time Simulation

11.02.2022

This week, SAFEMODE is running an air traffic control real simulation on the aviation case study #1 about a new En-route/Cruise Wake Turbulence alert and enhance flight and passengers safety.

The simulation takes place at @HUNGAROCONTROL  Simulation Hub in Budapest, in partnership with #EUROCONTROL, #ENAC and #UNISAP and #TUI Airways to represent the Pilot view.

It involves Air Traffic Controllers to assess the human factors aspects such as human-machine interface (HMI), phraseology and overall operational acceptability.

Beside questionnaires and subjective evaluation, human factors assessment also rely on objective measurements with workload measures and Air Traffic Controllers equipment: eye-tracking for the alert detection and reaction, and stress measures (GSR).
